Our crime lab used semen from lab analyst’s husbands or boyfriends. Except that, in our lab, no one recorded the name of who the donor was (privacy concerns), so we didn’t know if contamination occurred or not. Moreover, lab employees were not required to submit DNA standards. ASCLD/LAB declared this practice as acceptable.
