I can attest to the accuray of this post. I worked on the case of Adam Gray, who was wrongly convicted of arson. The city’s lawyers wanted to relitigate the overturning of the conviction and they hired three not very competent experts to help them. Two of the experts (chemists)were excluded after Daubert challenges and a third (a profiler) was significantly limited.
The City went to trial in Federal Court and lost big time. 27 million for 24 years of wrongful imprisonment. The case could have settled for half of that.

Thanks John. Ive deen the exact same thing in CA frderal court. The judgement after trial totaled $24M. San Bernardino County taxpayers are on the hook for that.
