    It was an accidental fire! The CBI chemist who testified, Thomas Netwal, knew better but was swayed by cognitive bias. A CBI colleague, Thomas Griffin, was asked by the DA to confirm Netwal’s analysis and told the prosecutor that Netwal got it wrong. The prosecutor then buried that second opinion.
